Englewood YMCA

Youth Enrichment Activities

Youth enrichment activities at the Y are based on building a better community for our youth. In Englewood, we currently offer Y-Reads and Teen Club, more information is below!

The YREADS! program seeks to close the gap between students' reading performance and the State of Florida’s reading-performance expectations. The program provides the resources necessary to help improve the reading levels of children from kindergarten to third grade while developing greater self-esteem and social skills. Volunteer mentors meet twice a week with students after school to help them improve their literacy comprehension and basic reading skills. This is a free program for students who are referred by their teachers.
