Y Members, Welcome Back!

The Y is dedicated to the health and safety of our members, staff, and community. We also believe that exercise is a proven immunity-booster and that exercise as a part of a healthy lifestyle is vital to overall health and well-being. Additionally, we understand the mental and emotional dangers of social isolation. The Y aims to help members meet their physical, social, and emotional needs while also implementing doing all we can to offer a safe and healthy environment during these difficult circumstances. Under the guidance of the Governor, our County Health Department, and the CDC, guidelines for reopening will be as follows:

Phase 1 Facilities & Programs (May 18th):

  • Adult Lap Swim, Pickleball, Tennis, and Outdoor Group Exercise classes are available at select branches starting May 18th; 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM Monday-Friday. Saturday will be 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM. 
  • Online Reservations for Lap Swim, Pickleball, and Tennis can be made a maximum of 24 hours in advance.
  • Outdoor Group Exercise Classes will have limited access on a first-come, first-served basis utilizing social distancing guidelines and maintaining 6 feet between members.
  • For your safety, no YMCA equipment will be available. Please bring your own tennis balls, racquets, goggles, mats, etc.
  • To ensure social distancing, reservations are required to access YMCA facilities.
  • If you are not feeling well, please stay home and get healthy. 
  • Contact your local branch with questions.

Full Phase 1 Facilities & Programs (May 26th):

  • All SKY Family YMCA locations will reopen their Wellness Centers, Group Exercise Studios, Swimming Pools, and Gymnasiums (For Camp and Group Exercise only) on May 26th; hours of operation 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Monday-Friday. Saturday will be 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
  • Each Wellness floor will have capacity limits based on size. Additionally, group exercise classes, when offered, will have limited capacity.
  • Indoor Group Exercise Classes will be offered by online reservation ONLY, utilizing social distancing guidelines and maintaining 6 feet between members. Reservations can be made a maximum of 24 hours in advance and will close 15 minutes before class time. 
  • Kid Zone and Locker Rooms will remain closed until further notice.
  • Spas, Steam rooms, and saunas will remain closed until further notice.
  • Coffee and Towel service will not be available.
  • Pick-up basketball, contact basketball, or other team/contact sports will not be available.
  • Drinking fountains will not be utilized, but bottle filler stations will be available.

An active membership to the SKY Family YMCA is required to reserve time for Adult Lap swim, Pickleball, and Tennis, as well as to utilize Outdoor Group Exercise classes.

Member Access Guidelines:

  • Members are encouraged to wear face masks or coverings while in general areas of our YMCA branches. Face masks or coverings are not required during physical activity. 
  • Staff will take member's temperatures upon entry. 
  • Hand wash and hand sanitizer stations will be accessible immediately upon entry.
  • Please limit workout to 45 minutes.
  • Please clean all equipment before and after each use (treadmills, weights, etc.)
  • Access will be limited to Y Members only; guest passes will not be available.
  • Please use touchless scan-in using your phone or keytag scan card to limit contact between members and staff.
  • Please no cash transactions at this time.

Additional Precautions:

  • All staff members will be required to take their temperature prior to starting their shift.
  • Additional staff will be scheduled whose sole responsibility is to clean and sanitize equipment, locker rooms, and shared spaces.
  • FDA approved disinfectants are used throughout the facility to ensure cleanliness.
  • Nightly deep-cleaning and sanitizing will continue.

Heroes Camp

The SKY Family YMCA will continue to offer all-day youth relief care for essential workers at 8 Y locations, in order to help support the children of healthcare and emergency response professionals who are playing important roles combating the coronavirus.

Virtual Wellness Center

The SKY Family YMCA will continue to offer Virtual Group Fitness classes, Virtual Small Group Personal Training and more to help you stay active, healthy and connected in your own home on your own time. We will continuously update our virtual resources so be sure to check in regularly. We will also let you know of other responses to community need.
