Whether your child is academically gifted or struggling, physically out of shape or a stellar athlete, his or her potential will sky rocket at SKY Academy.
As a Sarasota Public Charter Middle School, SKY Academy follows the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards as all public schools do, but it’s our approach that makes us unique. Subjects are studied through the lens of wellness. Making healthy and positive choices will become routine for each student.

STEMsmart
SKY Academy is the latest school to join Gulf Coast Community Foundation's STEMsmart initiative.
As a STEMsmart school, SKY will benefit from new technology for students, such as TI-Nspire handheld devices for use in math classes, along with the teacher training needed to integrate it into their classrooms.
SKY also will participate in other STEMsmart activities including additional professional development for teachers, Gulf Coast's annual STEMsmart Summit for students, and summer math and science camps.
"SKY Academy was created to be cutting-edge and forward-thinking," Dr. Oleh A. Bula, principal of SKY Academy, said in a prepared statement. "Being a STEMsmart school is the next step in our evolution."
In the same statement, Teri A Hansen, president and CEO of Gulf Coast Community Foundation, added, "Students at SKY learn everything through the lens of wellness, so the integrated approach of STEMsmart is a great match."
STEMsmart is a multiyear partnership between Gulf Coast Community Foundation and the Sarasota and Charlotte county school districts to transform teaching and learning in science, technology, engineering, and math.
