Lifeguard Classes

Our Y hosts American Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR-Pro classes. You must have both certifications to become a Red Cross Certified Lifeguard. Participants must be 15 years old, be able to swim 500 yards, treads water for two minutes and retrieve a diving brick from the deep end of the pool.

Included in the course: CPR for Professional Rescuer, First Aid Training, AED Training and Lifeguard Training, Oxygen Training, CPR pocket mas and Fox 40 Whistle, fanny pack and lifeguard book.

Lifeguard Class #1: May 3-5; Register by April 21

Lifeguard Class #2: May 24-26; Register by May 12

 

CPR Classes

CPR/First Aid classes are offered to the public at our Venice location. Special discount prices are offered for YMCA Members. 

Cost:

  • CPR (ONLY) YMCA member rate: $35/Non-member Rate: $50

  • CPR & First Aid YMCA Member Rate: $45/Nonmember Rate: $65
