Ashleigh and Gigi

Meet mother and daughter, Ashleigh and Gigi.

Gigi is in the VPK (voluntary pre-kindergarten) program in our YMCA Preschool. She has literally grown up at the Y, coming here since she was an infant.

Mom Ashleigh is a single parent who works full time while attending school. She recently earned her LPN certificate (licensed practicing nurse). While it’s tough to be a parent, employee and student, she says the support of the preschool staff is a big help and those teachers are important figures in her daughter’s life.

Did you know 135 infants, toddlers and children are enrolled in our preschool? We give out more than $600,000 annually in Scholarships to more than 1,000 children and families. We all need the Y!
